Our beautiful Cologne Cathedral - the city's landmark

Since 1248, the people of Cologne have carried one thing in their hearts - the Cologne Cathedral. At that time a new cathedral had to be built, because the old cathedral was not worthy enough, because since 1164 the remains of the Three Kings were housed in Cologne's church.

The completion of today's cathedral took more than 500 years until its two towers were allowed to adorn the style picture of Cologne. The north tower with 157.8 meters and the south tower with 150.8 meters height can be seen from almost everywhere in the city. A total of 20,000 people can be seated in the Cologne Cathedral on a floor area of almost 8,000 m².

UNESCO decided in 1996 that Cologne Cathedral should be listed as a World Heritage Site, thanks to its many works of art.You can visit the towers and tell us how many stairs there are.
